Although we are very proud of our facilities, we know that our true unique flair is created by the people. That is why we always welcome the initiatives and we are happy to support the ideas of our fantastic members. This time it was a doubles tournament played over 2 weeks with the semi final and final this Sunday. A big round of applause to the winners Davide and Yuri who beat Juanma and Dani Torres in the gripping final match with the score 6-3, 7-5. Special thanks to all the competitors as well as to Toni Costa for organising a great tournament!

Marat Safin at Viva Tennis!
This Autumn we were pleased to welcome the Russian former World number 1 and double Grand Slam champion Marat Safin at Vivatennis. Marat, who owns a property on Ibiza, teamed up with one of our independent coaches, Stephane Woit, for a bit of clay court practice prior to an exhibition tournament in Marbella. The tournament was a success for Marat who beat Goran Ivanisevic en-route to the final where he eventually fell just short of the title against local favourite Juan Carlos Ferrero.

Summer Tennis Camp
This Summer we introduced a schedule of Summer training for a mixture of local children and youngsters on holiday. In July we ran half-day training camps for 9 to 12 year olds. Currently in August we are running 1 & 1/2 hour clinics for 9 to 12 year-olds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning alongside 1 hour 'introduction to tennis' clinics for 5 to 8 year-olds every Tuesday and Thursday morning. The clinics have been very popular but there is still some availability for the last 2 weeks of Summer so get in touch as soon as possible if you are interested!!

Spain vs Rest of the World
After a 2 year break this year we resurrected the long running Spain versus the Rest of the World competition. This time we included both women's and mixed doubles alongside the usual men's singles and doubles. As always the day finished with a fun and delicious barbeque feast in the garden. The tennis itself lasted well over 4 hours on all 5 courts, but in the end Spain where comfortable winners with a 12 to 6 score, which of course they celebrated with pfueron los ganadoreslenty of enthusiasm!

German and Swiss tennis team training camps in April.
This April we were lucky to welcome various club teams for pre season training including a team fromTennisclub Grenchenin Switzerland and two teams from Germany including the senior team from Spvgg-Niederaichbach sporting club in Bavaria. This gave the opportunity for some friendly inter-club matches, with TennisclubGrenchen victorious against Spvgg-Niederaichbach, and the local team from Viva tennis Ibiza also narrowlybeating Spvgg-Niederaichbach during a long fun day that also included a barbeque and some unique Bavarian music and entertainment (although we have to accept that the Viva tennis team players were somewhat younger than the Germans!). If you interested in arranging pre-season team training (or post season celebrations!) then Ibiza is the perfect place with the perfect climate whether in early Spring, late Autumn or the middle of Winter. Please feel free to email us at email@example.com for more details. We are happy to as o assist with travel and accommodation arrangements.

Clubhouse, Bar, terrace and pool regeneration
The redevelopment of the clubhouse, pool and terrace was finally completed in May. This necessary work has created a brand new area to relax or watch sport in the clubhouse with comfortable seats and a big screen television. We also now have a beautiful brand new wooden bar, a new coffee machine and an updated food and drinks menu. Outside the pool has also been redesigned with a wet seating area and waterfall, perfect for cooling down and massaging your neck and back after a long game on the courts! We have also put smart new decking on the terrace and tidied up the original stonework and grate on the well. The redevelopment has also included a brand new gate and entry system which will allow club members to enter the club and use the courts at all hours throughout the day, every day of the week. This is first phase of a full club redevelopment program that will carrying out throughout the year.
